Those changes will be effective immediately upon posting of the modification(s) on the site. You agree to review this agreement from time-to-time to make sure that you are aware of any changes. Additionally, you agree:

1. This list is focused on all aspects of nonprofit technology. Please take off-topic conversations elsewhere -- including those that pertain to nonprofits but have nothing to do with the use of tech in and by social change organizations.

2. Please, refrain from inflammatory posts or rhetoric that might incite flames. Posts that are attacks on someone else's religion, operating system, ethics, ancestry, internet service provider, attitude, or mother are not ok.

3. About advertisements of products or services: If you have joined this group recently, you are invited to introduce yourself. At that point it's appropriate to mention any IT products or services that you sell to the nonprofit sector. We encourage you to have your satisfied customers in the nonprofit sector recommend your product or service rather than blatantly self-promote. Our members frown upon that and it does you a disservice. Exception: we run these lists and so we will promote our services to our members and the community.

4. Vendors are allowed to post about their product or service where there is an explicit invitation for a reply from a RFP (Request for Proposal). To avoid confusion, posters should explicitly say if they do not want to hear from a vendor about their product or service (note there are some lists where only nonprofit staff, only consultants, and only vendors participate).

5. If you run events related to nonprofit technology, post them at http://nten.org/events . Events hosted by for-profit companies should not be posted directly to these NTEN affinity group lists. Nonprofit organizations may post events related to the use of technology in nonprofits to the NTEN affinity group lists. However, please refrain from posting more than once a month (use http://nten.org/events for that) and please post only to the list that directly relate to your event's particular subject matter or location (i.e. the 501 Tech Club lists). You can subscribe nonprofit tech events via RSS at http://nten.org/events.

6. Solicitations of cash donations for organizations or individuals are off-limits. Offers for in-kind donations of either products or services are fine, of course.

7. Please explain any acronyms or technical terms to the greatest extent possible so that people in the lists who are less technical can learn and understand.

8. Me-too-messages: Please avoid them; we all get too much mail as it is.
